What a Vacation

Hello All,
We had our first vacation of the year this weekend-February 21st. While hanging at our friends home in Maricopa, AZ we learnt about blogger spot, and thought it was a great way to keep our family and friends updated about our family, so what better time to start then with our vacation. Preparation for it started the weekend before.
First, we went to Boise to support Chelsea (Josh's sister) through the State Basketball Championship-this being her last year in High School and all her team did great, they went all the way to the finals and lost to a 3 times in a row State Champion team.
Anyway we had a great time hanging out with family. On our way home we stopped at Applebees in Twin Falls with Brady (Josh's brother) for dinner. Corban didnt want to eat and started complaining that he didn't feel good. We didn't think anything of it at that time since he is always complaining that he does'nt feel good when it comes to eating a meal.
We got home somewhere around 10pm everyone was eager to get in bed, and this is when we discovered that Corban had the Flu. His temperature stayed at 103 till tuesday. He threw up a couple of times and layed in bed for 3 days straight. But thankfully by the end of Tuesday he was doing rather good. Then came Wednesday, Peyton woke up and was sick. We were all bummed because we were all ready to go on our mini vacation for the year. Well to be just safe I took him in to the doctors and found out that he had RSV (respiratory Syncytial Virus). RSV causes infection of the lungs and breathing passages and is very highly contagious. So I waited for the Doc to give me the bad news and advise me against travelling.
No that didn't happen. So the good doc game him a prescription and sent us on our marry way.
So we all got up early Thursday headed to catch our flight to Phoenix. Everything went very smoothly at the airport, no waiting in lines, no delays, and no losing of things.
Phoenix, warm, way warm, anything is warmer than 13 degrees that we have here in Blackfoot. We were super stoked about wearing shorts and sandles and sun screen.
First place we went in phoenix was called Rawhide, upon entering the place we witnessed a Stand off between a sheriff and some villager, the whole place was set up as an olden days town. Kind of like the one in "Work and the Glory" . We ate dinner and enjoyed walking outside pretending we were in some cowboy town, while the boyz enjoyed being with pregnant Hiedi, Darin and their son Daniel Phelps (our friends).
We spent the next day hanging out and recouping from the trip and then on Saturday we went to a "Renaissance Festival". And this was quite the place to be. Everyone was dressed in olden day clothing, corsets that push the hoohaas to the max and knights, Robin hoods, Kings, Queens, Princes' and even wenchs :)
We watched juggling, joust, sword fight, looked at a torture museum(creepy), and a bird show. Josh and Corban rode on an elephant, I wasn't brave enough so I watched from the side lines. We met a talking walking/talking tree.
Peyton was a trooper through the whole thing and Corban was just too darn excited to hang out with mom and dad. Peyton has started to walk so we gave him a few minutes here and there to get out of the stroller to walk around. Everytime he got the opportunity he would turn and walk in the opposite direction to what we were walking towards, he had the biggest smile in the whole world when he did that, "it was saying look at me go, and no you can't get me".
Anyway, the best day of the whole vaca was Sunday, we went to watch NHRA Championship race at the Maricopa Firebird Raceways. Heidi was very kind to take care of Peyton for the day so we can go to the races. I was stoked to meet Ron Capps. Corban hated it in the beginning because it was rather loud. But after we went and met some drivers, got their Autographs and pictures he got as excited as Josh was about the whole thing. I got to get a close up of Ron Capps -woohoo and Josh a close up with Hillary Will. We met "Fast" Jack Beckman, Ronn Capps, Tony Pedragon, J.R Todd, Jeg Coughlin, Melanie Troxel, and Hillary Will.
Well it was a great first mini vacation. We are back home and now Josh has the Flu, guess the flu is here to stay. A small reminder would be to WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER COUGHING INTO THEM! And no its not ok to use another persons tooth brush.
